Dojoji within the Japanese performing arts of Kabuki, Nihonbuyo, Noh, Kyogen it is probably one of the most important pieces of choreography an artist will learn.
There are endless versions of this story, various titles such as Musume Dojoji, Hidaka Gawa, Anchin Kyohime, Kane to name just a few. I was honored to be able to learn a Kabuki style dance drama Kyo Kanako Musume Dojoji which is approxiametly 45 minutes in length.
